1. CORAC - DYNAMIC LOADS FOR COTS

Remind your fellow COTs to NOT DO ANY dynamic loads to add work items to their electronic time sheets.  If COTs need a dynamic load done - they should call CORAC and have them do this work.  The CORAC gets credit for every work item that is loaded to a COT's time-sheet... so COTs undermine CORAC's job security when they do CORAC's work when it comes to performing dynamic loads.

2. WORK TYPE - "ANI"

COTs reading this may already know about using the work type of "ANI" for checking dial tone on the day the POTS or DSL order was due (for new service). But just in case you don't - I thought I would pass it along. The system gives you one minute, but I end up taking two minutes or more because by the time you ANI a circuit and get back to make the keystrokes - at least two minutes have gone by.

3. PIER FACILITATOR SERVICE

Please let your co-workers know how the Program for Employee Information and Referral (PEIR) can help Qwest workers and their families experiencing problems with substance abuse and chemical dependency.

The PEIR program is a joint endeavor by CWA and Qwest and has been in existence since 1986. In addition to substance abuse, PEIR Facilitators also help with other addictions, domestic violence, workplace transitions, mental health issues, and other life stressors.

PEIR Facilitators help by:

- Answering questions about treatment options.
- Referring employees to appropriate resources.
- Facilitating interactions with health care plans.
- Encouraging and supporting employees both during and after treatment.
- Supporting employees with work transition issues at the employee's request.

We have outstanding PEIR Facilitators here in the Twin Cities. One of these PEIR Facilitators is CWA Local 7200 Union Representative Ted Landgren. Ted works at the Fort Snelling Central Office. Ted has been around the block a few times and can be a great deal of help - but ONLY if you let your co-workers know that he is available to help workers when they need some assistance. Give him a call anytime of the day.

PEIR Facilitator will respond only to request by employees and all contact is held in the strictest confidence.
