Qwest Break/Lunch Policy

Qwest Management has informed the Union that they have seen an increase in questionable practice of the Break and Lunch policy.  Management has also stated that violations of these policies could be construed as falsifying time sheets.  In essence: a violation of Corporate Compliance which could lead to disciplinary action.  If you are disciplined for a Code of Conduct violation, which can include taking extended lunches, or being out of route for lunch or break, this is technically not a contractual item.

This does not mean that we would not file a grievance on your behalf.  What this means is that it is much harder to defend when there is a policy in place, and an employee violates that policy.  Remember, we can defend you when you are where you are supposed to be, doing what you are supposed to be doing.

Remember folks, we are getting into the slow season and, once again, Qwest’s policies and procedures are starting to be enforced.
